Six years in the making, this ambitious adaptation was shot entirely in sub-zero conditions in Norway and Antarctica.
All of the props are not only screen accurate but necessarily working replicas too, some of which are ex-Antarctic expedition and have been to the South Pole.
The film was also made in consultation with all of the explorers’ families.
Apsley Cherry-Garrard
This story has never been told on the big screen. Much of the hard work is already complete, however there is still a long journey ahead.
A professional sound mix, colour grade and an original orchestral score are some of the milestones remaining in order to give Cherry’s story the justice it deserves.
Please get in touch to discuss how you can help preserve this incredible tale and become part of its legacy.
The film’s completion and release shall include an educational outreach programme to promote an interest in the history, science and geography of polar regions.
Accompanied by many of the props and costumes for the audience to try out for themselves, the film shall be screening not only in cinemas but touring nationally at sites of specific interest and in schools.
The film shall constitute the main feature in a program of Antarctic films and lectures designed to inspire the next generation of polar scientists, explorers and guardians.
